algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

i have this wavy surface and i would like to trim parts of it. i tried using Brep Difference between it and capped or opened extruded surfaces, but the result incorporates part of the subtracted object (as you can see in the picture, i also get the vertical wall of the extruded object in my resulted object).

how could i get a clean cut?
thanks a lot!

it worked with Trim Solid component (can anyone tell me the difference between Trim Solid and Solid Difference?). even so, it only worked on breps done from extruded circular curves. for some reason it gives an error ("boolean trim operation failed") when i try to use it on a brep that is created through a polyline extrusion (then capped). ( the polyline is the result of the metaball component if that matters).

any ideas how i could make it work?
Solid difference performs solid operations, i.e. it will give you closed solids if you input closed solids. TrimSolid merely cuts holes, it doesn't mend them.
