select all the components you want to bake and key INSERT.
There's also a Bake button on the canvas toolbar which bakes all selected components.

i think i expressed myself wrongly. what i meant was, how can i avoid selecting all the components i want to bake each time i bake. can GH remember selections? or is there some component that can be linked to the components you want to bake and then just activate that particular component? (just some ideas how it might work... i did look for stuff like this prior to posting but couldn't find a solution)
I usually group the components I need to bake in the same part of my definition, and a notepad behind with information (like layer it should be baked in, color, and extra info). Its a good way to keep things in order.

Hope it helps, I think is an easy and clean way (no extranodes, no code, just position)
you could feed all the components into a "geometry" parameter, and then you would only have to select one thing. Or you could use a merge mutliple streams component, and just plug in whatever you will be baking on a regular basis. This cannot be done with text, because there is no output stream for text.
great ideas, thanks!
