Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everybody,

I am trying to create a circle that is tangent to two straight lines that have a given angle, with a specific radius.

I found some posts in here discussing similar issues but no luck so far.

Also, the component circle tan tan might be useful, but I am not understanding the point input its asking for, instead of the radius of the circle.

Thank You

You can start from this,  for radius part you can use galopagos by changing angle of polyline, because you may be using two contradictory things>

This really doesn't solve the problem though, does it?

Re-posting, as I forgot to internalize new curves:

Here is a version that does solve the problem with a slider that determines the length of two sides of the triangle and so, indirectly, the radius and center of the 'InCircle':

Still not as good as Daniel's suggestion though.

Just offset and intersect no?

Hey Petras, thats smart, I think the offset method will do just fine. I am still curious how the RhinoCommands actually achieves it...
Thanks!

Daniel's solution is WAY BETTER than the idea of using Galapagos for this one!

Yes indeed, thanks also Joseph for your input! I think I will stick with Daniel's for now, but I have come to the realization that this second line might be a circle instead.

Meaning the created circle has to be tangent to a line and a circle!

Here two option with radii 10 and 20.
