Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I have a problem, maybe there's a simply resolution.

In my surface I've created a grid of point, then I've connected points with an interpolate curve. Double extrusion to create my polysurface.

How can I do to make polysurface tangent to my surface?

Ciao Giacomo,

Please post your .gh definition with also internalized geometries or in a .3dm file.

Hi Riccardo,

here it is! Thanks a lot!

Try this (a little C# is used since extrude both sides is not available as native component, but you can try with the inactive ones available)

Thank you so much Peter!

Notify if you want ribs with same "thickness".

How can I do to extrude srf by attractor points? I mean, is there a way to influence distance of extrusion by distance from an attractor point? If you can, you can give me advice and I'll try to do that to improve myself!

Thanks a lot Peter!

Time for the trad update, it seems (any collection of attractors in push/pull mode).

PS: distance in relation to what? Some sub-surf center? (Surf.PointAt(0.5,0.5) on the  normalized surface that is) Some closest point? Some cat? Some dog? Something?

The extrusion increases as the distance from the attractor points increase in the direction perpendicular to the surface!

Anyway get this that is NOT related with perpendicular distance [attractor to surface] because it gives you far more freedom, and we talk later on.

The distance on duty: from attractor to surface "center" point. 2 modes (push/pull are available).

Obviously I could "restrict" the attractor in order ... blah, blah but it doesn't make any sense (to me).

Hello Peter,
I studied the definition that you sent me a few days ago. It looks very interesting.
I was wondering if you can make the ribs to increase and decrease their extrusion value in a non-linear within the surface. I mean that now the extrusion increases linearly, how can you make it variable?
Thanks for the help!

Hmm ... you need the V3, that is.

In fact a V3 that does thicken the variable ribs (case 1) - left unfinished due to lack of espresso (and cigars).

I hear you: you mean the V4? No I mean the V3A.

Found 3 minutes more for the very simple thicken part.

But ... still no assembly possible (case1: both collections [u/v] present).

Time for the V4; I guess.
