Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All

Is there anyway to change the quality of the preview geometry? This surface is a simple loft and when baked it is perfect, but in the preview it appears that there will be a lot of flaws in the geometry.

Hi Thomas

sorry, it is not possible to increase the preview quality in grasshopper

The settings are set for best performance

Hi to]

Thanks. I'll find another way to work around it then. Do you know if custom quality settings are planned for future releases?

I second this, indeed that would very helpful. I don't see how it can make a performance difference (unless grasshopper itself actually sends a mesh for Rhino to preview, as below), as even graphics cards tessellate the NURBS on the GPU using decent drivers.

In any case, if it is a performance-setting, it makes sense to make it adjustable for the users (who may have different machines etc.).

The discrepancy of  the quality of the NURBS preview and the quality of the rest of Grasshopper is apparent when using it in animations for example.

Best,

Kristoffer

Hi Thomas,

You can create your own meshes to use in the viewport. This has the advantage of you being able to create materials and colours as well, but does impair performance.

Thanks Danny.

This works perfectly.
