Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Mostapha,

I ve been using Ladybug to run some Radiation Analysis,

For some dates, (not all of them), there seems to be some issue with the legend not showing up when I set the Analysis period to be same day from morning till night.

Only the lowest value of the legend appears.

The analysis seems to be running fine, judging from the gradient of the colors.

In this particular example the legend appears for Dec 22nd from 06.00-22.00 but not for other dates like Dec 21 same time period. Sky appears also to be just one color whenever the problem occurs.

I attach the files for your reference.

Thanks a lot,

Dimitris

Hi Dimitrios,

I am pretty sure that I know why this is happening. It is because of the function that generates legends for all ladybug components.

For any legend in Ladybug, if the range from the highest to lowest values of the radiation mesh is less than 0.1, the legend is collapsed as this means that the legend would have to include values smaller than 2 decimal places. This feature was put in because a large number of decimal places could look weird in a lot of cases. Also, this was originally OK since most data that was viewed with the legend was larger than 2 decimal places. However, now that the hourly radiation is viewed in kWh and the legend is being used for EnergyPlus data now that sometimes have ever small differences, I would say that it is time to edit this function for small decimal place situations.

I will try to get around to this soon and, in the meantime, you can get the legend range to be stable by using the ladybug legend parameters component.

Hi Chris,

Thank you very much for the response!

I assumed it had to do something with the setting in the range of the values but wasn't sure what.

I ll use fixed min/max values for the time being.

Thanks again!

Dimitris

Added to github: (https://github.com/mostaphaRoudsari/ladybug/issues/77). Thank you both.

Glad to be of help!

Thank you!

Dimitris

Hi Chris

Is there a way to project the felt tempreture on a plane rather than on the person? Or relate the Radiation Analysis to a temprature graph?

Hi Amy, I think it is possible but Chris can give you the final answer about this. I would open a new discussion for this. -Mostapha

Thank you. I will open a new one

Hi Amy,

You should make a new discussion here in the LB_HB group, or if you want I can make, cause I'm interested in this topic also.

regards

Peter
