Daniel Piker replied to Taylour's discussion Kangaroo - Vortex - no results in the group Kangaroo
"It looks like the problem is caused by the spring stiffness being too high, and causing the system to explode. The way you have interconnected the points to get the springs is also giving you many duplicate lines (did you mean to flatten first?),…"

"In fact, when I bake the resultant points, close grasshopper, and use the command "SelPt", no points are selected...which makes me believe it is not the points going off the screen, they are being obliterated somehow"

Kangaroo - Vortex - no results

I cannot tell why my Kangaroo definition does not produce results.  I don't get any runtime errors, but all of the points disappear when I run it, perhaps there is some input that is in the wrong range?See More

Max Gough replied to Taylour's discussion Brep intersections
"Hi David, I have a similar question, but instead I'd like to output the intersection events as breps (i.e. SInt with multiple inputs). I assume it's possible to modify the script you provided here to do that, but my VB skills are…"

"Got it, I had to really bump up the spread to around 150 and keep the power down around 0.5"

Taylour replied to Taylour's discussion Invalid mesh (isosurf) in the group Millipede
"I realized that if I scale up the input geometry (curves) I get a good mesh, although, I am still confused as to what settings would give me a satisfactory isosurface mesh for the original geometry"

Millipede

Millipede is a structural analysis and optimization component for grasshopper. It allows for very fast linear elastic analysis of frame and shell elements in 3d, 2d plate elements for in plane forces, and 3d volumetric elements. All systems can be optimized using built in topology optimization methods and have their results extracted and visualized in a variety of ways.In addition millipede implements a few basic geometric features [extraction of iso surface meshes from volumetric scalar fields…See More

Giulio Piacentino replied to Taylour's discussion runtime error with catmullClark subd in the group Weaverbird - Topological Mesh Editor
"Sorry I'm on a trip and it's late now. The name you mention is correct. I quoted by heart. To answer rapidly, that's correct -- wbThicken works on 2-mainfold meshes, or meshes that have 2 faces besides an edge. However, the mesh is…"

Taylour replied to Taylour's discussion runtime error with catmullClark subd in the group Weaverbird - Topological Mesh Editor
"Thanks for the quick reply Giulio. I tried _AlignMeshVertices if that is what you were referring to.  I couldn't find _AlignMeshFaces in rhino. I did discover however, that when I baked my pre-thickened mesh, I appear to have duplicate…"

Giulio Piacentino replied to Taylour's discussion runtime error with catmullClark subd in the group Weaverbird - Topological Mesh Editor
"Hi Taylour yes, sorry about the confusing message. The wbCleanUp mesh command was not ready to be published yet when I released that version. In version 0.5.99 it might do nothing at all. The invalid topology message derives from collapsed faces…"

Taylour replied to Taylour's discussion runtime error with catmullClark subd in the group Weaverbird - Topological Mesh Editor
"It appears that when I bypass the wbJoin component, it works, but incorrectly...all of the meshes pull apart.  I must have a bad mesh in some way, duplicate edges maybe, but I can't seem to get rid of them."
