Bake on Text tags

I suppose this is a known bug by this time, but right click/Bake on normal and 3D text tags doesn't  work - Bake from the Solution menu does...And what about the available sizes on the normal tag? …Continue

Flat shade option in Custom Preview component

Would this be possible?  If I connect a mesh generated in GH to this component it would be nice to be able to see it with flat shading...Thanks,  --MitchContinue

Loose curve offset problem with closed curves?

Hi,A loose offset of a closed NURBS curve gives a result that overlaps itself... Is this a known bug/limitation?  I tried making the curve non-periodic, that made it worse.  It seems to happen with…Continue

Hey, in that case you better remove everything that concerns '"members" then...  :-) http://onlineslangdictionary.com/meaning-of/member --Mitch

Just meant to be funny - it's a basic Rhino function, not something specific to Grasshopper...  --Mitch

Repeatable crash with GeometryPipeline object... Just curious to see what it was, when I put one on a blank canvas, I got an error box (attached).  Then when I deleted the component Rhino crashed instantly (crash report sent in).  I saw…

Here is a remapping using triangle axis-system. Not fully tested, tell me how it works for you.

Try to think about your mapping application as less of a box morph with triangles but a dynamic geometry...meaning building up the original form from points to lines to surfaces to volume then apply that logic to the grouping of triangles for the…

Triangular morphing/mapping

Hi all,I've been playing around with something - trying to map an object from one triangular "space" to another - that is to do a sort of triangular cage edit...Pretty much all of the morphing methods are based on rectangular structures (NURBS/UV), so it's somewhat difficult to find ways this can be done (without using mathematics that are above my grade-school level...  :)  )I did mock up a way with a planar curve object and the MapToSurface module using base and target triangular surfaces…See More

Bake on Text tags

I suppose this is a known bug by this time, but right click/Bake on normal and 3D text tags doesn't  work - Bake from the Solution menu does...And what about the available sizes on the normal tag?  On the right click menu there is the choice of wee through large size, but here they all result in the same on-screen size - about the same size as a dot which is understandable - but since the type is less bold than the dots they are really hard to read, especially on a dark background. --MitchSee More

No.  The "From" font is the one you use normally, in the case of my example it would be Arial.  This is a typical double stroke true type font.  So in your file, all of the text you want to convert would be in…

Hi Mitch,   I totally forgot to add special case code for closed and periodic curves. I'll try and fix this for the next release.   -- David Rutten david@mcneel.com Poprad, Slovakia

Loose curve offset problem with closed curves?

Hi,A loose offset of a closed NURBS curve gives a result that overlaps itself... Is this a known bug/limitation?  I tried making the curve non-periodic, that made it worse.  It seems to happen with pretty much any closed curve (even polylines) here... --MitchSee More

there are some advances going on joining up GH and rhinocam. i myself am very interested in this. maybe you are also interested. see link below for a simple example.

i will post some stuff later this week. that project kind of mimics your approach using rhino "dummy tools" to evaluate "millabiliy". http://wiki.mcneel.com/rhino/milltoolstoolbar
the definition will help baking the rhinocam tool catalog into rhino geometry on named layers. it work by reading the rhinocam tool catalog .csv file. i let you know.
