Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I have a question regarding deformation of euclidean geometry. I am working on an installation as part of a whole class project. The most basic aspect we are dealing with is the bending of tubes restrained by a fabric membrane. Very similar to this project: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profile/KrisHammerberg , by Kris Hammerberg.

Here are some images of the pringles-like shepes we are currently working with as a preliminary physical study; achieving this through kangaroo would be very helpful to further develop the module behavior and the overall form of the final installation,

Attached is a gh file we are using as well; is there a clearer or more straight-forward way to achieve this? It currently does what we want in terms of turning a ring into the shape you see above, yet we'd like to figure out a way to attach multiple modules and use the physics to develop accurate connection methods and more specific variations when put together. Any suggestions?

thanks in advance!
