rationalizing "dirty" mesh intersections

Hi to all!I come with a question I have not been able to solve yet. I am doing a simple contouring of a triangulated mesh. The contouring is via section planes on an evaluated line. Such mesh isn't…Continue

generate line[s] from intersection point[s] on curve[s] to center point[s]

Greetings to all,Today I have a question regarding 'universal joints' for a network of curves. For straight lines this seems to be no problem--because lines can be used as vectors--but with curves…Continue

CANVAS DISPLAY BUG?

Hi,I'm experiencing a strange canvas behavior that had not happened before. Every time I open grasshopper, whether it is a new gh file or a saved definition, I do not see the icons unless I zoom out.…Continue

Hi,I'm using Rhino 5 x64 sr3 on Windows 7 and just downloaded the latest gh build. After doing so I keep getting a Grasshopper display error saying "Value was either too large or too small for an…Continue

"Well ... give some clues on your level with Modo (and the build on duty). Are you - in general - familiar with Modo's scripting approach? Or can you find a friend who's experienced enough to do it for you? (it's like saying that you…"

peter fotiadis replied to RENE's discussion rationalizing "dirty" mesh intersections
"As you already said ... the best solution by 1M miles is to use a dedicated subdivision (mesh) app to do the required clean/repair/whatever kind of job (say: MeshLab (free + many many bugs), Modo (not free + the best), ... ,  etc etc). BTW: you…"

rationalizing "dirty" mesh intersections

Hi to all!I come with a question I have not been able to solve yet. I am doing a simple contouring of a triangulated mesh. The contouring is via section planes on an evaluated line. Such mesh isn't necessarily neat given it came from a 3D scanner point cloud.Files attached. I hope you are able to point me in a better direction!found intersections at chosen parameter…See More

RENE replied to Joey Cheung's discussion Kangaroo definition amendment! in the group Kangaroo
"HI joey, The image of the definition you've found actually does not include a mesh - only lines composing a hex grid, which gets exploded into segments than are then turned into springs for kangaroo to simulate a tensile net. You must generate…"

Rodrigo Shiordia Lopez replied to RENE's discussion projected curve as restrain for tensile mass in the group Kangaroo
"One way to do this is to remesh the original mesh so that the points in the mesh are the same as the projected curve's spring chain. If the points are not the same, kangaroo doesnot take them as constrained. The reason your first example works…"
