Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I have been working on bringing Nonlinear analysis into Grasshopper, where material Nonlinearity can be achieved. For now I made Nonlinear analysis possible for 1D structural beams. The analysis is based on Classical Nonlinear methods and works perfect for Isotropic materials like metals. Other material types like Orthotropic and Brittle which are wood and concrete will be added later. For demonstration rectangular cross section is used for now. In addition, all cross section types can be analysed and parametric.

I have used Abaqus FEM software for reference and the results are very close. I have been planning to make a separate plugin and also considering to merge this new feature to the existing structural analysis plugin available in grasshopper platform. On the plus side, additional external FEM software or any other structural analysis software is not needed.

I am also working on Freeform structures, Earthquake simulation and load superpositions, I  will update it soon.

So If anyone is interested to make this new feature into plugin and any queries regarding the feature, please let me know.

Kindly view the following link to see the new feature that is possible within grasshopper without any additional software involved.

hi,for my this is amazing!
are you continuing to develop this plugin ?

For now I have paused for a brief moment. I will continue again after I figure out an effective method to handle algorithms because its slowing down a little.
