How to transform platonic polyhedrons into archimedean polyhedrons

Hi :) I need to transforme the five platonic polyhedrons into archimedean polyhedrons, is someone have any idea how i can cut them in grasshopper ? How can i enter them like a "mesh", with a number of "surfaces" ? Our teacher said to place the truncation according to this relation : Capture%20d%E2%80%99%C3%A9cran%202016-05-01%20%C3%A0%2008.03.46.png I already make the five platonic polyhedrons in Rhino.

Best,

Well meme'd sir.

Dear teacher,

Since I have a feeling that 99.99% of your students can't distinguish a vector from a sardine can you tell me the actual reason for asking this from these poor fellas ?:

(a) in the Name of Science.

(b) in the Name of You.

If (a) please provide a screenshot of some def of yours that does something on that matter.

yours truly, Lord of Darkness (aka: the Merciless).

is someone can really help me with an easy def :) ?

Best,

Nastya

May i have your def? i searched but i didn't found it :)

thanks

Nastya

Searched? where? maybe in my practice? when? how? why? he he

An very entry level of this (that does any polyhedron, any dome, any "distortion": Breps of course, not meshes):

... you have it already - the balloon case.

But this is strictly internal not to mention that is using solely C# and not a single native component ... thus even if I was willing to publish it (I'm not) ... what could be the usage for you?

I just want the easiest ones to reply to my exercices, the ones that are in the images in the beginning, that for the truncation :) if you don't mind

have a good day,

Hi.

I bet this will probably not the method  what your teacher wants. Anyway, Lunchbox plug-in has some tools for platonic polyhedron truncation.

And you can make custom truncated polyhedron by using Sandbox Topology plug-in.

Unfortunately the stuff that does (optional) "truncation" is part of the internal builds, where internal means something that would never appear here.
