Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

May I ask how to cancel and stop a calculation in progress which may take a long time to finish?

Thank you!

Your only chance at the moment is the Escape key. The state of Escape is checked between components, between iterations of a single component and betweed data conversions inside parameters, but if a single iteration takes a long time (for example a massive Boolean Union or something) there's nothing you can do to cancel that.

thank you very much, David!

Most of the time you can't so get into the habit of turning on emergency recovery in the options, then after you save once it will reliably recover the file once you control-alt-delete quit Rhino and re-start.

Also, you can disable the Grasshopper solver to work, and issue individual recompute commands still from the menu. Many lock-ups are due to Grasshopper getting stuck in long cycles as you merely build or edit a program.

Thanks, Nik!

Currently, I just manually disable those components conducting heavy calculation ...

A wish here: a component that can toggle the "enable/disable" condition of all the components connected to it.

Will it be useful, David and Nik?

Thanks, again!
