Generating meshes with a Data tree

I am trying to generate meshes directly in grasshopper in order to avoid any export problems. I found a tutorial on page 130 of generative algorithms, where you generate the mesh through the mesh component, imputing a series of points as well as an ordered list of integers. I was wondering if there was anyway to use something similar but with a list ordered into a data tree. I am trying to replace an existing surface from 4 points component and I don't want to go through and flatten and re-order my lists. Above is the definition where I am trying to input an ordered list of data tree items, technically a string, but usually this method works with other components.
