Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

Today I started looking at developing code to connect GH 08.0066 (with Rhino5) with Revit Structure 2012. When I reference the assemblies in the vb component, I can succesfully load RevitAPI.dll, but there's something going wrong with the RevitAPIUI.dll.

It won't load, the error is: 'Import failed for 'C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit Structure 2012\Program\RevitAPIUI.dll': Could not load file or assembly 'RevitAPIUI.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.'

It looks like it's looking for adui18res.dll

Any ideas what this might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

I don't think anyone has managed to directly call Revit API from within Rhino or Grasshopper.  I attempted a few things to do this, and then decided on using a bridge file, IFC.  Others have used spreadsheets, or programming techniques like pipes.  Refer here: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/gh-revit

Thanks Jon!

I had a look at the forum and everyones approaches, I'm trying to write direct plugins for Revit first now to get more familiar with the API. I'll keep you posted when I have more news or questions. ;)

Just looking into things I am sure you arent using the US version of the software which may be causeing some issues

this is usually due to the failed language pack installation.

If you can post the Log file. (%temp%  folder) for the installation, it might give us some clue on why the language pack install fails.
