Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Good day y'all,

I'm struggling a bit with the fitness for Galapagos. I'd like to assign multiple inputs to the fitness that define different functions or outcomes. Lets say I have a box and I want Galapagos to calculate the best measurements for it. This box must then be build according to a few rules. Like say i got 100 dollars and every m2 costs 1 dollar. but the x value must not become smaller then say 2(m). Is it possible to do this with Galapagos? If so can someone give me a few hints in the correct direction?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

how do you define "best"?

Hey David,

I mean best as in combinations that come closest to the requirements.

For example:

1 dollar per m2, X>2, 100 (D) dollar available.

Posible outcomes:

X=2 Y=50 D=100

X=3 Y=30 D=90

X=4 Y=250 D=1000

etc.

Ok, so you want a box that costs exactly $100 and is not smaller than 2 units along the x-axis?

Just make sure your slider for X cannot go smaller than 2 and this constraint is automatic. See attached.
