Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,
I have an issue with the pachyderm acoustic plugin, I loaded it on Rhino 6, but when I open the Material section there is no way to enter the absorption coefficient data, because the box near the frequency disappeared. I supposed there was a problem with the installation, so I tried to reinstall everything but it didn't work. Does anyone know how can I solve it?

Hi Valentina,

Can you send me a screenshot? The simplest explanation might be that the window to the control is too narrow (mouse over the edge and drag it out a bit more) but I'm not sure if that is what is going on. Sometimes .Net causes an issue and then I don't know how to help you. The issue would be with your machine.

Let me know.

Arthur

Thanks for the reply! I don't have a screenshot because the problem is with the pc I have at work, but it was something like that (I modified a screenshot from my home pc). I already tried to stretch the window, but no results...

Hello!

Have you found a solution?

I am facing the exact same issue on both my work and personal computers. I have tried stretching the window without success. I run Pachyderm 2 RC26 on Rhino 6 SR34.

Otherwise, there is any roundabout way to set materials properties?

Thank you,

Elena

Hi,

There is a roundabout way. Materials can be set in Grasshopper by layer.

(LMT component). The issue has something to do with your computer, but not having a computer that does it myself, I have no way of looking into this I'm afraid. Sorry about that.

If you want to study it further, maybe we can work out a way that I can study your computer, or maybe we can ask someone from McNeel about this...

Arthur

Hi,
Actually, I have the same problem, any hint on how to solve it?

Thanks,
Arefeh

Hi Arefeh,

I'm sure this is something to do with your computer, but what it is I can't say.

Let's try some things. What is your screen resolution?

Arthur

Hello,

Unfortunately, I am still facing the same issue. I have Rhino 5, 6, 7 installed on two different computers and the only version that allows me to input material properties by numbers is Rhino 5 on both computers. I basically have this version still installed for this only reason. Since apparently I am not the only one with this issue, I was wondering I there is any way to fix it.

I attached a screenshot of the (stretched) interface with the problem

Thank you!!

Elena

Hi. I still don't get this often enough for me to have an answer about that. Now that I can see it, it looks like it isn't that your tables aren't scaling correctly, but that your interface is completely omitting the numericupdown controls... I have no idea why it would be doing that.

Let me ask you this. Is there anything unusual about your computer? For example, are you running Rhino in windows on an apple computer? Is there anything that might upset the .Net framework on your machine? Do you have issues with any other software?

Arthur

Hello!

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I run a Windows PC and I have never had simular issue before with other software.

Anyway, following your previous request on display resolution, I made some tests and eventually managed to find a way to set them :)

The screen of my laptop is 3840*2160, with scale and layout normally set at 250%. If I load rhino by reducing this scaling factor at 150% the window is loaded normally (I can even switch to 250% at that point and is still visualized correctly). I thought this could help you to understand what is causing the issue

Elena

This is very helpful! Thank you for figuring this out for all of us.

If buttons are disappearing in your Pachyderm interface, try raising your screen resolution.
