Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Im a architecture student learning grasshopper from scratch and i've been assigned to recreate Sol Lewitt Wall Drawing #118. So if anyone could help me i would be very grateful.

This is what have already, but i cant seem to connect each point with the rest.
Thanks in advance.

P.S.  There are duplicate lines that must be deleted...

This method for removing duplicate lines assumes that the distance between each pair of points is unique, which appears to be the case here:

The second 'Dispatch' eliminates "lines" of zero length, i.e., points connected to themselves.

Here is a flourish that colors the lines based on their length:

thanks!

thanks a lot! I wouldnt have done with out your help.

Simple and fun, my pleasure.  Just remember though, that the method I used to remove duplicates isn't bullet proof.  If two different pairs of points are the same distance apart, it will likely fail.  If you look around, you'll find other ways to find and remove duplicate lines more reliably.

Also, I probably should have removed all the zero length lines first instead of last.

Cheers.

The 3D version looks pretty cool:
