Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Exploding out rebuilt points that attach onto curves

I am a second year student studying architecture and I have used Rhino for almost a year now, and becoming quite familiar with the commands, although I have no experience with Grasshopper3D , so I apologize if I do not use the proper terms regarding this program.

I am analysing sight lines on a floorplan that I created on Rhino, and I manually did this by applying PointsOn onto a Rectangle then Rebuilt it for additional points, and then I manually move each point onto the walls of the floorplan (assuming where they would attach to).

I wanted to know if there was a more accurate way of doing this on Grasshopper, as shown in one of the example images I found on the internet.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Jesse,

GH does come with two IsoVist components, one of which is bound to be useful to you:

Thanks so much David,

I set the floorplan as the Curve and adjusted the Radius to fit the scale of the plan and it works perfectly, I just wanted to know how I would Export the floorplan with the isovist analysis from Rhino to Illustrator. I tried the Export command, converting it to a .ai file, although the isovist curves do not show up on illustrator. Or is there an alternative method in doing this?

Thank you in advance.
