algorithmic modeling for Rhino

After a talk with David Stasiuk I decide to make my own gh skeleton. Using Starlings 3d hull for nodes and weaverbird to smooth.

Got it! Thanks martyn!

Michael, as far as I can tell I am doing the same... passing a flattened list of 7 points but I'll have another look at it with a fresh head tomorrow...

the error is: Solution Exception: value cannot be null. Parameter name: collection

David, I wil have do do some mid-model baking and have a closer look at what's happening with my struts.

Cristina... I work out the distance between all the corner points and the polygon points and then do a LessThan comparisson to give me a pattern of True and False to cull the points I don't want in the 3dHulls. Trick is to end up with these points in branches, one for each 3dHull. I'll upload my definition into the samples and examples forum. Use the data viewer to follow what goes on with the data.

Hi, I have been working on figuring out the definition, but I'm clearly missing some things. Could you explain a bit the logic you are using for grouping the points at each vertex?

This is where i'm at so far

Hey Martyn...the way that I'm constructing my strut to give it a stocking effect relies on the rotation...you can see it more clearly pre-subdivision, like a diagrid:

If you're doing them more or less as quads you're right that it doesn't make sense to rotate alternating sections.

Here is basically my set up.

That's odd... doesn't work for me when I pass the 3dHull component 7 points :(

I've probably done something else wrong!

No it is just a list of 7 points (6 from hexagon and one from end) n=7

Oh, one ore thing... my slHull3D component will not work on the single lines where I have just one point and a set of polygon points. Did you do anything different to manage these single ends?

That's great! Way better!

Incidentally, David S, if you're reading this, if I keep the rotation between alternating polygons along the struts I get a ribbed effect but if I don't have any rotation the struts are nice and straight...

Ah, OK, I wasn't sure what the extra point would do so I'll try adding one to my definition and see what happens!
