Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

This is an example of a basic Maya Fluid into McNeel's Grasshopper Plugin. There is an expression acting on the Fluid to export out points based on fluid vector magnitudes. Grasshopper is reading this text file via a vb.net component. This is made possible by Giulio Piacentino's "The Engine" and "renderAnimation" nodes (http://www.giuliopiacentino.com/grasshopper-tools/#more-1033 ). I added a txt file reader to get the fluid information into Grasshopper.

I have an animation that takes a fluid animation from maya and turns it into a set of lines in grasshopper. The problem is that it is quite slow, so using a desktop recorder is not a good way to record the animation. How did you animate this? I would be SO grateful if you helped me out.

Note, this is really not real-time...its actually quite slow...I've seen some OSC plugins for Maya, maybe we can hook em up if we can figure out how to receive via OSC...
