No worries Milan, this stairs will last longer than 99,9% of the buildings built according to NABCS ;) nice job :)
Kim if I set I don't know american building codes that doesn't mean it's designed out of the blue thinking about nothing. You said it doesn't meet any requirement. Does it mean geometry/material you can see at the picture is wrong or you just miss protective features preventing fall which are about to be assembled?
Milan you have to be much much more vigilant if you are going to construct something like that in 2016. You are no longer living at the turn of the last century. Imagine this in your home or anywhere else for that matter. The facts are you made the stair without checking the code requirements. Imagine after few drinks a guest of yours kills him or herself descending that stair. What do you think is going to happen to you? And if the laws are that lax in the Czech Republic, Its a reminder to me.....never to go for a visit.
it is staircase for maintaining roof so there will be something like 5 visits/year at all but its on visible place and that's the reason for this design. In printscreen on the next image curve above stairs - this is not position of handrail as Ángel Linares thought but it represents position of head as you walk on stairs.
...if (for example) it is an internal stair for a private residence (and not an egress stair) you can get away with a lot (even per IBC).
Well this is a picture of main structure (designed with GH -> reason to post it here) not final product with all safety features. Staircase is located in Europe / Czech Rep. so I´m not able to talk about meeting NABCS requirements.
Sorry, but it does not pass any North American Building Code Standard. And we are not even talking about the handrail issue
It is made of 5mm corten steel. There will be a net made of wires to envelop staircase. I was suprised that even without any handrail it is not scary to walk there.
My main concern is more about rust and structural degradation over time given the already perforated surfaces in the stair...but if it is legit corten steel there will be no problem at all.
I suppose that the handrail will be welded at some point (it appears in the 3d viewport capture) :P
