e major and minor radius. It does not have a way to specify two points and the distance sum to the two points as parameter.
So I made some conversion to do that:
Since my friend is trying to model drawing ellipse by a string, the length input is based on the length of string loop, not the distance sum. Look at the following image and you will understand:
Similarly, I have also modeled what would happen if there are three pins with one string loop. Result is a shape that consist of 6 ellipse segments. The reason of this is not too obvious, there are basically 2 cases: the string are taut between one side of the triangle, or the string is taut between 2 sides.

asured to a boundary curve (black):
I am looking for the result below (blue curve):
I divide the green curve into the number of sides that the boundary has (4 in this case), so a segment of the green curve is offset according to the closest segment of the boundary curve(black). However, when I have done that, of course the curves are too long and they interesect each other and even some of them become redundant. See the image below:
Does anyone have a good suggestion how I can trim the redundant curves and redundant parts of the curves and get a closed offset polysurface (see 2nd image)?
Thanks!

omly distributed pointcloud, a clearly discernable hyperplanes pattern emerged from the combination of three Random components, each outputting a list to feed the three spatial coordinate. The three random components share the same Domain and Number inputs, but the Seeds are unique. When the seeds are three consecutive numbers [n] [n+1] [n+2] , the resulting points are arranged in three coplanar groups. As the third seed increases while the first two are fixed, the number of hyperplanes planes linearly increases by steps of 2.
[n] [n+1] [n+2] > 3
[n] [n+1] [n+3] > 5
[n] [n+1] [n+4] > 7
...
By swapping random coordinate lists in the Point3D inputs, the planes rotate around the average value of all the XYZ point coordinates. Still not having digged into Linear Congruential Generators, yet definetevely interesting the order emerging from (pseudo) randomness.
I attach screenshots of a test with the following input parameters:Domain: -10 to 10Number: 10000Seeds: 0,1,2

Marco

tip2: Connect the items you want to the entwine component in the desired order, pressing shift while dragging the second wire.
edit:
for a more generic solution that will accept larger lists you can do something like this:
