imilar topic with a Windows 10 user, which successfully fixed this issue. If you are tiny little patient, I think we can try the same steps in your Windows 7 case. For start, try these three steps:1) Close Rhino. Restart your PC. 2) Once the PC boots up, double click on the "regMapWinGIS.cmd" file in "MapWinGIS" installation folder.3) When it closes the Command Prompt window it opened, try running Rhino, Grasshopper and drop the "Gismo Gismo" component on the canvas (Grasshopper working area). If this does not help (you get the same COM class factory CLSID error message coming out from the "Gismo Gismo" component), then try the following steps, one by one:
1) Close Grasshopper and Rhino2) Run the Revo Uninstaller Pro and uninstall your MapWinGIS application along with removing all the leftovers from the registry. You can download 30 days trial version of it from here. Here is a youtube example of a bit older Revo Uninstaller. But the important part is that is shows how registry leftovers are removed.3) Restart your PC, and once it boots again, make sure that you are logged in as an Adminstrator!4) In your Start menu's search box type: "UAC", which will find your User Account Control Settings. Click on it, and a new window will open. Set the bar on the left to "Never notify".5) Turn off your Antivirus, which ever it is.6) Download the 64 bit version of v4.9.4.2 MapWinGIS.7) Right click on downloaded MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file, and choose "Properties". If there is "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".8) Left double click on MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file and install it to "C:\dev\MapWinGIS" folder. Choose "Full installation" during installation process!9) In your Start menu's search box type: "CMD". Once the "Command prompt" appears do not left click on it! Instead right click on it, and choose "Run as Administrator".10) A command prompt window will open. Type the following command:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /u /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
If command does not result in an error message, then type this one afterwards:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
11) If no error appeared again, then open your Rhino and Grasshopper and check what "Gismo Gismo" component prints from its "readMe!" output. If errors appeared, please post their screenshots. Thank you in advance.
Please accept my apologies for the large number of steps. Some of them are quite simple actually (click on this, download that...).…

ly 26-27-28-29 (digital fabrication)
The third edition of digitalMed Workshop is structured as a design laboratory. Participants will learn the challenging process of producing ideas, projects and research analysis that are to be developed through specific software and concepts that emerge through the use of mapping, parametric design and digital fabrication.
The workshop will take place in the city of Salerno (Italy) and it will last 11 days structured into 3 intensive weekends: July 13-14-15 (mapping); July 19-20-21-22 (parametric design); July 26-27-28-29 (digital fabrication).
Goals and Objectives:
We aim to make clear the theoretical and technical knowledge in the approach to parametric and generative design and digital fabrication. (From collection and data management, to the manner in which these inform the geometries, to the fabrication of prototypes.)
Participants will also have the opportunity to practice the new knowledge gained in the design laboratory through project work.
Project Theme:
"Urban Field" Identify, study and analyze the system of public spaces in the urban area of the city of Salerno.
Connection, mutation, generation and evolution are the themes to be followed in project work.
Brief Description of Topics:
- Mapping. Our reality, in all its forms, has studied through concepts of the theory of Complex Systems. The techniques that will be used to study events and places of reality, will work for the management, manipulation and visualization of data and information. These will form the basis for project management and driven geometry, conducted during the second phase of the workshop.
- Parametric Design. Introduction to Rhino* and Grasshopper. Specifically, we will explain the concepts with which to work with the software of parametric design and how they function. Through these tools, we will arrive at the definition of systems of mathematical and / or geometrical relationships that are able to generate and govern patterns, shapes and objects that will inform the final design.
- Digital Fabrication. In this phase, participants of the workshop are organized into working groups. Participants have access to materials and conceptual apparatus that will take them directly to the fabrication of the geometries of the project, with the use of software CAD / CAM interface and the use of machines for the digital fabrication.
The DigitalMed workshop is organized by Nomad AREA (Academy of Research & Training in topics of Contemporary Architecture), in collaboration with the City of Salerno, the Order of Architects Province of Salerno and the National Institute of Architecture In / Arch - Campania.
Interested parties may download the Notice of Competition at the address www.digitalmedworkshop.com and fill the pre-registration no later than July 10th 2012.

gh, when I bake, the geometry suddenly exists in rhino.
Second, I can seem to figure out how to set default numeric values in the component.

h, and using the BScale and BDistance are creating havoc somehow too. I've simplified first, and used the Kangaroo Frames component along with setting internal iterations, to make MeshMachine act like a normal component, along with releasing the FixC and FixV. The FixV didn't make any sense anyway. I've also set Pull to 0 to speed it up during testing, since much less calculation is involved to just let the meshes collapse, prevented from disappearing altogether by using a mere 15 iterations.
Also, your breps are open so that allows much more chaos and then collapse, though they did manage to close themselves too at times. Here is closed breps with a full 45 iterations:
So now that it's working, lets re-Fix the curves, and the problem arises that there is an extra seam line that is getting fixed too, running along the cylinder, stopping the mesh from pulling tight under tension wherever a vertex happens to be near that line:
So lets grab only the naked edge curves instead:
And what happens if we lose the end caps, now that we don't have an extra line skewing the result?:
There is no real curvature differences since it's not a curvy brep so the Adapt at full 1 setting has little to do. Now what does the BScale and BDist do? Nothing! Why? Your scale is out of whack, 99 mm high cylinders but only a falloff maximum of about 5, so let's make the falloff be 25 instead, but I must restore the end caps or the meshes collapse away for some reason and freezes Rhino for a minute or so the first time I try it:
It's a start.
If I intersect the cylinders, nothing changes, since they are being treated as separate runs. MeshMachine outputs a sequence of two outputs though, due to Frames being set to a bare minimum of 2 needed to get it to work, so I filter out the original run, which is just the unmodified initial mesh it creates.
The lesson so far is that closed meshes are much less prone to collapse and glitches leading to screw ups.
A Boolean union of the cylinders is when it gets funner, here show with and without the fixed curves that seem to define boundaries too where really there are just polysurface edges:
