imilar topic with a Windows 10 user, which successfully fixed this issue. If you are tiny little patient, I think we can try the same steps in your Windows 7 case. For start, try these three steps:1) Close Rhino. Restart your PC. 2) Once the PC boots up, double click on the "regMapWinGIS.cmd" file in "MapWinGIS" installation folder.3) When it closes the Command Prompt window it opened, try running Rhino, Grasshopper and drop the "Gismo Gismo" component on the canvas (Grasshopper working area). If this does not help (you get the same COM class factory CLSID error message coming out from the "Gismo Gismo" component), then try the following steps, one by one:
1) Close Grasshopper and Rhino2) Run the Revo Uninstaller Pro and uninstall your MapWinGIS application along with removing all the leftovers from the registry. You can download 30 days trial version of it from here. Here is a youtube example of a bit older Revo Uninstaller. But the important part is that is shows how registry leftovers are removed.3) Restart your PC, and once it boots again, make sure that you are logged in as an Adminstrator!4) In your Start menu's search box type: "UAC", which will find your User Account Control Settings. Click on it, and a new window will open. Set the bar on the left to "Never notify".5) Turn off your Antivirus, which ever it is.6) Download the 64 bit version of v4.9.4.2 MapWinGIS.7) Right click on downloaded MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file, and choose "Properties". If there is "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".8) Left double click on MapWinGIS-only-v4.9.4.2-x64.exe file and install it to "C:\dev\MapWinGIS" folder. Choose "Full installation" during installation process!9) In your Start menu's search box type: "CMD". Once the "Command prompt" appears do not left click on it! Instead right click on it, and choose "Run as Administrator".10) A command prompt window will open. Type the following command:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /u /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
If command does not result in an error message, then type this one afterwards:
"your_regsvr32_folder_path\regsvr32.exe" /s c:\dev\mapwingis\mapwingis.ocx
11) If no error appeared again, then open your Rhino and Grasshopper and check what "Gismo Gismo" component prints from its "readMe!" output. If errors appeared, please post their screenshots. Thank you in advance.
Please accept my apologies for the large number of steps. Some of them are quite simple actually (click on this, download that...).…

s the "Surface Populating" definition: I manage to populate my geometry over the surface, but after I bake it, I have to delete the boxes that define my components limits as well! Is there any way of populating and baking only the chosen component, without having to delete the boxes afterwards?
Secondly:
Basically: I am trying to cover a surface with two types of components [ an open one and a closed one] , which will be proliferated over my tubular surface according to the main sunlight direction.
1. I introduce the surface component.
2. I use "Divide Interval2" in order to have division into U and V.
3. i generate the target boxes [ "surfaceBox"] .
4. I use "Isotrim" ( same intervals) and "BRepArea" to find centroid of each area.
5. My "Curve" component introduces sun angle, with its "End Points".
6. I use "Vector 2Pt" to specify sun-light direction.
7. I want to measure the angle between sun-light and the surface normals, at the position of each component; after generating the centre points, I need the normals of each centre point to get the surface's points' UV, and "Evaluate" the srf at points.
8."Angle" and "Vector" components: I use them in order to evaluate the angle between the sun direction and the srf.
9. I convert this angle to degree by using a "Function" [ to see if the angle is bigger from the max.angle or not...]
10. Function "x,y" gives me boolean data.
11. Data become "Dispatch"ed...
12. Two "Morph" components , each one linked to one part of the "Dispatch" data, generate "closed" and "open" components over the srf.
The result should have been different types of components, based on the surface's curvature, diraction and sun-light direction...
I do not understand where the mistake is in this definition...
Thx in advance1

ay be other issues with your geometry, but this is usually the issue people run into.)
Rays will lose energy much more slowly when a room is very reflective, but such conditions only really exist with polished painted concrete. I don't know how many such rooms you've ever been in. I can count them on one hand - and I've been to acoustic reverberation chambers on 3 continents.
Pachyderm works with a ray decimation algorithm. This means that a ray will be traced out to the cutoff time, unless it has lost enough energy that its further contribution to the impulse response is negligible. At this time, the ray is discontinued. So, the more absorption in the room, the less time it will take to run the simulation. So, more realistic absorption coefficients will allow a model to run in a more reasonable amount of time.
Gypsum board/Plasterboard will typically be between 8 and 11 percent at mid and high frequencies, and higher at low frequencies, for example. Concrete, unless polished and painted, is still a little porous, so you can probably make it 3 to 5 percent.
Regarding sources and receivers, adding more receivers adds almost nothing to calculation time (until the every end, when it extrapolates a pressure response, anyway). This is because the receivers are entered into a spatial partition system, which allows it to be done in an optimized way. Adding multiple sources will effectively multiply the calculation time by the number of sources, because the simulation needs to be repeated for each source individually.
Hopefully this helps you figure out how to run simulations with reasonable run times.

ample grid size, 'Scale (Sample)'. Set at 0.5, that's 845 X 612 or 517,140 points. Lofting 1-Degree nurbs curves took 17 minutes! Results look good to me. 2-Degree curves loft in 7 seconds, not as "high def" (sharp) as 1-Degree, which are close to polylines.
'Flip' gives curves and loft at 90 degrees.
Code won't load because with Photoshopped image (trimming 'Levels' ), it's 11 MBytes.…

TB of RAM. I think I'm going to start a GoFundMe campaign to buy one for myself :)
2- The server's cost is about $13 an hour. I get free access to supercomputer through my university and xsede.org because I earned an NSF Honorable mention last March, however, the supercomputers available through both resources are a little complicated for me to use, as opposed to the one available from amazon that has Microsoft server 2012 already installed.
3- I wanted to run 400 annual glare simulations for 400 different views.
4- I tried a to perform annual glare simulation for one view on my Dell XPS that has Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor and 16GB of system memory. The simulation took 2 hours to complete. Radiance parameter ab was set to 6.
5- I wanted to obtain the batch file for each view so I can run them on the server. So I used the fly component to run all 400 simulations and closed the cmd windows, that wasn't bad ( for me at least) because I asked my son to this job for me, he was just glad to help me :)
6- I created one batch file using this cmd command:
dir /s /b *.bat > runall.bat
This created a file with the path to each .bat file. I edited this file in Notepad++ to include the word "start" at the beginning of each line. This was done using the "find and replace" dialogue box.
7- I split my newly created batch file into 3 batch files, each one has about 130 file names and " start" before the file names.
8- installed radiance on my server
9- Ran the first batch file on the server, this started 130 cmd windows performing my simulations, CPU usage was anywhere between 90% to 100% and about 105 GB of RAMs were used.
10. It took about 5 hours to complete all 130 simulations, I expected to run all in 2 hours but can't complain because this would've taken about 260 hours to run on my laptop. After the simulations done I ran the second and then the third batch files ( total of about 15 hours).
11. I got 400 valid dgb files. Couldn't be happier!

ings" [every person on the experiment is one ring] which show the time duration. The outer sphere is divided in 11 segments [which are basically the segments of a human brain] I hav imported the data so far but what i aim is to find a way to connect each moment[time, second] from the inner sphere to a number of points from a specific segment in the outer. For example for Person number1, at 5th second the segments that are activated are 4th , 6th, 11th with 2, 3, 2 points.
It could be done manually but since the connections are a few thousands and i got the lists, i wonder whether there is a better way.
Any help is appreciated, i do not attach files since you need the excel files aswell. If anyone would like to help i can email the files.
Thanks in advance.…
h 11 returns two values, and the lists with 10 and 6 return one. In any case, I changed the logic a bit.
Check it out in the other vb component. The idea is just to check if the list is odd or even first with the Mod operator. If the lsit is odd, return the middle item in the list as you have set it up. If the list is even, return the mid items also in the same way as you have set it up. I am attaching the edited .gh file, a Class1.cs file which shows in C# how I set up the component (translated vb code will follow), and the .gha I built from it.
The logic should be a bit easier to follow in this version. Check out the edited vb component in the definition for a 'translated version.'
Apologies for the C# ness...I currently do not have Visual Studio Express installed, just Visual C# express. This one is converting just fine to:

al read” component in grasshopper.
But somehow it seems that the command line “TempSensor.requestTemperatures();” makes the firefly firmata somehow unstable. I have also connected 5 servo motor which move strangely irregular/wrong when the command line above is in the program. So, when I for example only control the "Digital Pin 12" in grasshopper it mainly moves the servo on Pin 11 (!) but also a bit time delayed the servo on Pin 12.
Do you have any ideas? It has to be something inside the “#include <DallasTemperature.h>” (Libary for the temperature sensor) which doesnt go together with the firefly firmata und gets something wrong in the "void WriteToPin" firmata command
Or do you may have any working codes for implementing a temperature sensor? Its doenst have to be the one i have, I could get another one.
here you can see the code: http://txt.do/drqao (a simplified version of the latest firmata including my TempSensor lines marked with "//...//TEST")
Thanks! Julian…
