11 number instead of 10 (0-10, 10-20, etc). Also grasshopper numbered (i've numbered it for easier view) the panels vertically starts from bottom left.
Questions:
1. How to generate correct number ranges (0-9, 10-19, etc)?
2. How to change the numbering horizontally so i could select items by row?
3. I also found out that some surface have correct U and V direction and some of the have it inverted (U in V position, vice versa). This has cause some problems in my design. is there a way grasshopper or rhino to change its U &V ?
First time posting here. sorry if there's any mistake or misunderstanding.
Thanks,
Wilson…
solve this , because :
if I link to data recorder or buffer or data log, it create all same number ( in timer 1ms refresh) ,
But if I use data dam , max 10 sec later , I get the new one only , can not get previous value .
I hope to have idea to get the switch between "0 and 1" , or "1 and 2" , then generate output : "a = CONSTANT(0)" , "b = CONSTANT(1)" or "a = CONSTANT(1)" , "b = CONSTANT(2)"
I am sorry I have no idea for 3 days thinking .
Thank you very much !…

OSC are just simple horizontal sliders.
The problem I'm facing is that additional toggle items in OSC, which write only 0 or 1, don't get through properly. They do without problems as long as the timer on the FireFly is off. I also can write to the OSC app via gHowl to turn LEDs on or off.
As soon the FireFly timer is back on the toggle get lost in 8 of 10 attempts. The sliders still get through correct.
Any idea if this is because of a timing problem between gHowl and FireFly? I played around with different GH timer settings but that didn’t change much.
Cheers,
Peter…
main kangaroo simulator and bunch of other components despite they are installed -.
But nevermind, this is very nice and thank you very much for that - I have been also playing with different configurations.
I am essentially trying to create something more complex and I have had perhaps satisfactory results but now that you have provided such file I would be keen on linking this to my original project which I have now attached.
Essentially I am trying to create a topology based on the acceleration data of cargo vessels in on the Firth of Forth in Scotland.
I have an api for such data in a pre-determined area of the whole Forth. The data updates itself every two minutes and it does not give the acceleration value but instead the speed of the boats. So I thought I could substract V2 from V1 every two minutes and divide by the time that has passed - V2 always being the newest data and V1 the one before.
I have categorized the boats according to the Vessel ID so that the speeds match to the appropiate boat however there is still a problem. In reality not every boat manages to send an updated info every two minutes so what happens is that;
-lets say at the very beginning we received data from 10 boats - creating 10 data branches.
-And in the second set of data arrival only 6 could manage to send data - so in 6 data branches there are indexis of 0 and 1 and the other four there is only 0.
-When the third set arrives and its the same 10 boats again, the four that could not manage in the second set writes its speed values to index number of 1 but the other 6 is already at 2. So I believe those 4 have to somehow skip index no 1 and write the values on the 2nd although it is their only second data.
-So that the index number represents the overall number of present data but not the number of data sets received for each boat.
In summary, my aim is to achieve a topology using your file, but instead of picking random points from the grid and getting random heights for it, finding the closest point from the grid to each of the actual boat locations and then pulling them according to ther (V2-V1).
P.S: What would you recommend on making the mesh out of more triangles in the pursuit of a smoother surface - I will then render this as a real landscape - iceberg fantasty. I have tried to decrease the distance between the cells and increasing the number of points but it is somehow related to number of random points as well so although it is a better resolution there are this time too many peaks.

cusing on dynamic sketches and prototyping. The workshop will be held in New York City during the weekend of February 19 and will be co-taught by Marius Watz (evolutionzone) and Studio Mode.
Description:The paradigm of scripting within ubiquitous modeling platforms such as Rhino or Maya allows users to generate complex form by accessing an underlying geometry engine and performing iterative functions. This paradigm is typically based on run-once execution, making it unsuitable for designing interactive or time-based behaviors. By implementing workflows that utilize Processing to create real-time software sketches, we can design dynamic systems that can act as standalone tools for parametric design, input mechanisms to feed other platforms, or processors of existing or sensor-based data sets.
This fast-paced workshop will focus on interactive parametric design strategies. Using Processing as our base platform, we will design real-time dynamic behavior systems, implement interfacing techniques for fluid use, and iteratively prototype the solutions in physical format through rapid prototyping and digital die-cutting. Through a series of focused exercises and design tasks, each attendee will build a stand-alone parametric design sketch and work through the process of prototyping, realizing a set of solutions through computer numerically controlled equipment (Makerbot “Thing-O-Matic” and KNK High-Force Cutters). An optional third workshop day is offered to those participants desiring further time to develop individual projects or lines of research. As part of a larger online infrastructure, modeLab, this workshop provides participants with continued support and knowledge to draw upon for future learning.
Interactive Parametrics was conceived through a collaboration between Studio Mode/modeLab and Marius Watz/evolutionzone.…
he "return" is comment out as shown below?
After restarting Rhino and Grasshopper, I opened the outdoors_airflow demo file, and the first step of creating the case file is ok:
Then the blockMesh component gives the following error: seems I have to manually start OF first..
so, as the error message suggested, I open OF by Start_OF.bat:
Then come back to the blockMesh component, now it can be executed while the OF command line window is also openning:
... and the blockMesh finished successfully:
... so I proceeded to run snappyHexMesh, checkMesh and update fvScheme:
... up to the simpleFoam component, I got the error again:
The warning message is:
1. Solution exception: --> OpenFOAM command Failed!#0 Foam::error::printStack(Foam::Ostream&) in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #1 Foam::sigFpe::sigHandler(int) in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #2 ? in "/lib64/libc.so.6" #3 double Foam::sumProd<double>(Foam::UList<double> const&, Foam::UList<double> const&) in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #4 Foam::PCG::solve(Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double> const&, unsigned char) const in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #5 Foam::GAMGSolver::solveCoarsestLevel(Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double> const&) const in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #6 Foam::GAMGSolver::Vcycle(Foam::PtrList<Foam::lduMatrix::smoother> const&, Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double> const&, Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::PtrList<Foam::Field<double> >&, Foam::PtrList<Foam::Field<double> >&, unsigned char) const in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #7 Foam::GAMGSolver::solve(Foam::Field<double>&, Foam::Field<double> const&, unsigned char) const in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libOpenFOAM.so" #8 Foam::fvMatrix<double>::solveSegregated(Foam::dictionary const&) in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/lib/libfiniteVolume.so" #9 Foam::fvMatrix<double>::solve(Foam::dictionary const&) in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/simpleFoam" #10 Foam::fvMatrix<double>::solve() in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/simpleFoam" #11 ? in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/simpleFoam" #12 __libc_start_main in "/lib64/libc.so.6" #13 ? in "/opt/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM-v1606+/platforms/linux64GccDPInt32Opt/bin/simpleFoam"
... and the command lines in the readMe! output are pretty long and it is saved in the text file attached here.
So, my questions are:
1. why I have to manually start OF first before I can use the blockMesh component? Should butterfly automatically start OF?
2. what might be the cause of the unsuccessful run of simpleFoam in the end?
Hope you can kindly advise! Thank you!

Amuse yourself by trying to figure what kind of series logic could deploy (or not) these room unit combos across the blue space grid shown.
2. Let's assume that surgery etc etc departments are sited in some ground floor and their requirement for rooms is variable ... meaning that some kind of heuristic GH approach must be applied here (for instance : fill the first level with rooms required by all departments with min distance from a given core and if more are required go to next floor etc etc).
The real room unit cluster looks like that (all units are prefab)
3. Voids in the whole cluster deployment (avoid Soviet type of bloc aesthetics) mean that culling could be challenge here (we need ...er..."visual" culling , so to speak)
4. After finishing some solution create custom preview(s) in order to visualize what dept owns what rooms.
5. If in trouble with Architectural things > relax > be cool > open 3d PDF > be a great Architect in just 10 easy steps.
PS: of course I know GH clusters...but as they are they violate my rule N1: never walk the walk if no return is possible, he he. But assuming that David could resolve the return issue (sure he can) this is NOT the answer for my "proposal" for multiple Canvas - again like multiple Views in any CAD stuff these days. Just imagine clusters with some serious hierarchy depth > where am I ? what input comes from what output?
I'll be back with a chaotic case (Series in complete anarchy) in order to demonstrate the critical necessity for a visual Tree Manager/Viewer (a visual thing within the GH visual thing). For manager read : decomposer, composer, visual identifier (per data item/branch) tree re-mapper, anything actually.
more soon (and a in depth analysis about what a Tree Manager/Viewer should do - in an ideal world, that is)
Cheers, Peter

Horticulture and Landscape in same time.
The most common plastic materials used as agricultural films are the low density polyethylene (LDPE, with a density less than 0.93 kg m−3), the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl-acetate (EVA)
Also here you can find the characteristics of the flexible materials for greenhouse covers (adapted from CPA, 1992 and Tesi, 2001) as much as i get.
UV-PE Film ( UV-PE~ polyethylene Long life or UV)
Thickness (mm) = 0.18
Direct PAR transmissivity (%) = 90
Diffuse PAR transmissivity (%)= 86
Long-wave IR transmissivity (%)= 65
EVA Film ( EVA~Ethylene vinyl-acetate copolymer)
Thickness (mm) = 0.18
Direct PAR transmissivity (%) = 90
Diffuse PAR transmissivity (%)= 76
Long-wave IR transmissivity (%)= 27
and here you will find the global heat transfer coefficient’ (K in W m−2 °C−1) for the above greenhouse covering materials, measured under normalized conditions (temperatures: exterior: −10°C, interior: +20°C, wind: 4 m s−1). (Source: Nisen and Deltour, 1986.)
Cover Clear sky Overcast Sky
Single PE 8.8-9.0 7.1- 7.2
Single EVA 7.8 6.6
Note : the PAR radiation (photosynthetically active or photoactive radiation and its the amounts to 45–50% of the global radiation; Berninger, 1989)
The name PAR is used to designate the radiation with wavelengths useful for plant photosynthesis. It is accepted that the PAR radiation ranges from 400 to 700 nm (McCree, 1972), although some authors consider the PAR from 350 to 850 nm.
The composition of the radiation changes with time, as a function of the Sun’s elevation and the cloudiness. When the Sun is low over the horizon, the short wavelengths are reduced (less UV and more red). The clouds reduce the amount of energy, greatly decreasing the NIR.
The PAR proportion in relation to the global radiation increases with scattering (diffusion). It is lower with clear sky and in the summer (45–48%).

requiredKeys_ input of the "OSM Shapes" component. This is not the source of your problem though, but still I mentioned it in case you solve your issue, and afterwards want to use the "OSM Shapes" component.
The current (Win32Exception): WindowsError is the very same error message that you reported back in February. For some reason, your Windows is not allowing the Gismo "OSM Shapes" component to delete C:\MapWinGIS_installation_folder\gdal-data\osmconf.ini file.
You previously solved it by allowing the full access control to it, so I am not sure why it is not working now.Windows 10 seems to be the most overprotected operating system among other Windows versions, at least judging by the questions people asked so far.
Maybe you can try to turn off all the services which prevent users from changing certain files, like UAC or maybe even your antivirus?
Try this:
1) Close your Grasshopper and Rhino.2) Restart your PC3) When it boots up again, in your Start menu's search box type: "UAC". Click on it, and a new User Account Control Settings window will open. Set the bar on the left to "Never notify".4) Completely turn off your Antivirus.5) Check once again if your access control to the C:\MapWinGIS_installation_folder\gdal-data\osmconf.ini file is still set to the values you previously reported in this post.6) Right-click on "Rhino 5" icon and then choose: "Run as administrator".7) When Rhino boots up, run Grasshopper, and open the newest create_3dbuildings_trees_streets.gh file from here.If none of this helps, maybe you have some other application which deals with access to files on your system? Malware removal application or similar? Try turning it off too.…
