1. A transformation Matrix is a 4*4 collection of 16 values that "deform" 3d things according the values in the cells. The orthodox way is to deploy "cells" left to right and top to bottom. Rhino does the opposite (why?) hence we need the transpose method.
2. Since "translate" and "perspective" are "symmetrical" the transpose boolean toggle (within the C#) "flips" rows with columns ... so we get perspective or move.
3. When in perspective "mode" the vanishing points are computed internally within a min/max limit (per X/Y/Z axis) thus avoiding the usual havoc with "extreme" perspective angles (very common "glitz" in pretty much every CAD app - CATIA excluded). Vanishing points (and limits) are oriented with respect the pos/neg value of a given control slider.
Note: slider values are percentages between min/max (mode: perspective) and/or actual values*100 (mode: move).

work in both versions. I've tested them in Rhino 5 and they work on my machine. If your screen looks like CarloMaria's, can you double check that all of the .gha files and .dll's have been unblocked. To do this, right-click on each of those files (included in the installation folder) and select Properties. On the pop-up menu, at the bottom of the page, you should see a button that says Unblock (this only appears if they are currently being blocked). For some reason, downloading files off the internet causes some of the files to get blocked... and Rhino 5.0 is more picky about loading them in that instance. Let me know if that helps. Also (and I found this out recently from another user)... it's better if you don't have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed on your machine at the same time. It seems that sometimes this can cause a conflict too. When the other user uninstalled the 64-bit version, everything loaded fine in the 32-bit application.
There' haven't been any major changes to the OSC components. I did add a couple of features mainly to parse up some of the messages sent from other applications... notably from GyrOSC (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/video/gyrosc-kangaroo). Some of the messages are sent as lists of 4 values (like the quaternions sent in that app) or lists of 9 values (like the matrices sent using that app). Anyway, other than adding datatype parsers for these, I didn't change anything else about the component... so it should work as before. Let me know if you're still having trouble.

the contours they show are all generated from 3 arc second SRTM files, even if in the United States where higher resolution data is available from 1 arc second. Also the contours are likely 2D in their map since. Granted, their contours may look nicer, but I think it's just because they're processing the HGT file with the GDAL Contour app to generate a Shapefile.
That being said, starting last year the USGS started releasing 1 arc second SRTM data for the rest of the world outside of the US. It's not the friendliest website, but I've been accessing it from here (be warned it will probably take a few minutes to load). You could download the appropriate tile and use the SRTM Topo component and get better looking resolution than you've seen with the 3 arc second data.
There's also the possibility you could do the same thing OSM is doing, but with the higher resolution data. Download the GDAL library and run the gdal_contour.exe file on the 1 arc second HGT file and you'll get a shapefile with all the contours. Elk doesn't directly work with shape files, but you could use Meerkat GIS to import the shapefile. I've only done a few quick tests, but I've had trouble with the scaling with this method, both using Meerkat and using Autodesk's Map3d to read the shapefile, so perhaps it's my inexperience with gdal_contour. It also looks like it's making the 1°x1° tile's square instead of scaling the X values as it goes farther from the equator. Nothing that's insurmountable, but still you should watch out for it.

I'm looking at embedding Ecotect information within VB (or possibly C#) components and was looking for the most efficient connection.
It looks like I have 2 main options:
1. XML database-centric model of which both GH + ECO write to the XML document.
2. LUA scripting from within GH and ECO.
XML would be the first choice as it seeks to contain data purely outside of both apps, however, the redundant code that ECO needs to read / write gbXML files may be a headache to script the content.
Another question I had was to whether I can populate data (such as weather, location, materials, etc) directly from the Ecotect libraries (.lib) to feed into the GH components or would I need to decompile these first.…

To continue with my wrapping career, TetRhino (or Tetrino) is a .NET wrapper for the well-known and pretty amazing TetGen mesh tetrahedralization program. It provides one new GH component for discretizing or remeshing objects using TetGen. Basic tetrahedralization functionality is exposed with a few different output types that can be controlled. At the moment, the only control for tetrahedra sizes is the minimum ratio, which is controlled by a slider. This is hardcoded to always be above 1.0-1.1, as it is very easy to generate a LOT of data (and crash)...
The libs are divided again into different modules to allow flexibility and fun with or without Rhino and GH, so have fun. All 4 libs should be placed in a folder (maybe called 'tetgen') in your GH libraries folder. Remember to unblock.
Once again, the libs are provided as-is, with no guarantee of support for now, as I use them internally and do not intend to develop this into a shiny, polished plug-in. If there is enough interest, I can tidy up the code-base and upload it somewhere if someone more savvy than me wants to play.
TetgenGH.gha - Grasshopper assembly which adds the 'Tetrahedralize' component to Mesh -> Triangulation.

To wrap up, some notes about the inputs:
These are the possible integer Flags (F) values and resultant outputs for the GH component:
0 - Output M yields a closed boundary mesh. Useful for simply remeshing your input mesh.
1 - Output M yields a list of tetra meshes.
2 - Output I yields a DataTree of tetra indices, grouped in lists of 4. Output P yields a list of points to which the tetra indices correspond.
3 - Output I yields a DataTree of edge indices, grouped in lists of 2. Output P yields a list of points to which the edge indices correspond. Useful for lots of things, very easy to create lines from this to plug into K2 or something for some ropey FEA (or not so ropey!) ;)
As this component can potentially create a LOT of data, especially with dense meshes, care should be taken with the MinRatio (R) input. This will try to constrain the tetra to be more or less elongated, which also means that the lower this value gets, the more tetra need to be added to satisfy this constraint. Start with very high values and lower them until satisfactory.
Hopefully shouldn't be an issue, but it's possible that you need the 2015 Microsoft C++ Redistributable.
