Render Animation

Hi Guys,

Does any of you know a simple way to render an animation in Grasshopper through Rhino?

I usually do screen capture while I run the kangaroo definition. But I would like to have a better render quality for the grasshopper objects. The red and green graphic is kinda old after a while and I don't know how to set it up so it is decent enough for me to screen capture.

Another option is to use Giulio's render component:

http://www.giuliopiacentino.com/grasshopper-tools/

This component bring the mesh from grasshopper and render the animation frame-by-frame using Rhino Render. But since I am no expert in rendering, the setting that I made is slowing down the whole process. So does anyone know/have a render presets that I can use? In the end, I am just looking for a simple/basic render. Toon effect will also be a great addition.

Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Cheers!

    Hi Seb,

which setting are you using? Is it a "Rhino render" setting, or from some other renderer?
If you use Rhino render, it should not be very slow.

    Thanks,

    - Giulio

      hy seb,

I had some good results by using slider animation. It is a simple trick; The lower limit of a the slider gives out a "true" all other values a "false" through an if statement. this is the input for starting kangaroo and ensures that the silder animation and kanaroo start simultaneously. you have to see how much steps you need to capture the hole animation form the viewport. the timestep in the kangaroo settings has a influence on the speed the animation runs..

      here is one example: http://vimeo.com/31819517
