Force from one object to a group of connected objects...

Is it possible to apply force from objects to a group of connected objects, without disturbing their hierarchy... these connected objects are inter-joined...and by hierarchy i mean if red cube is linked to 2 blue cubes horizontally on both sides and 2 green cubes vertically on both sides... this hierarchy must not be disturbed... the object themselves may or mayn't deform depending on the strength of force....if yes, how?

I was able to figure out some of the stuff with the help of examples...but still not the getting the desired result when i increase the number of points on the acting or receiving end of the force...the files are attached...
