Flattened, optimised patterns

Hi, firstly and once again, thank you for this awesome toolset, really really amazing.

I am wondering if there is any way to use kangaroo as a flattened part optimiser for non develop able surface meshes?

So for example, a complex organic curved surface mesh needs to be flattened into 2D panels to be cut out of fabric and reassembled.

Only the "squished" panels have an optimisation iteration that compensates for stretch and compression by adding in "broad-seams"

What I am trying to achieve is something along the lines of this patterning software
