Kangaroo is a Live Physics engine for interactive simulation, optimization and form-finding directly within Grasshopper.
I was trying to build the "shell" component using kangaroo 2 components so that I could use it easily with the new solver. I basically copied the algorism of the shell component in Kangaroo 1, only switching the "HingePoints", "HingeAngle" and "Hinge components.
However, I could not get it work with Kangaroo 2 solver. The shell component seems not effective with low strength setting and becomes unstable with high strength setting.
Anyone have idea about what happens?
Thank you!

Hi,
The hinge component acts on pairs of triangles, so you need to triangulate your mesh first. You should also use the triangulated mesh for the edge lengths, because otherwise the quads are free to shear into diamond shapes.
