Timer block on Mac

Hi, anyone know if there is a shortcut for 'timer block' on Mac? There is a lot of tutorials showing a small icon on the windows bar but I have no idea how to block the timer easily on Mac. Every time I run a simulation it crashes so I hope that if you could easily block it it would help.
