Kangaroo is a Live Physics engine for interactive simulation, optimization and form-finding directly within Grasshopper.
Hi everyone, my end goal is to essentially have a pile of bricks, like if you were to dump a load out of a dump truck. I have been working with a script I found from Piker on one of the threads here but am having trouble making it work the way I need it.
Three main things I cant figure out, 1) how to get the bricks to simulate free fall, with the rotation in space, 2) how to get the bricks to fall onto each other like they would in real life, and 3) and how to stop the perfect self organizing function (right now all the bricks seem to be working their way to the base plane and aligning perfectly to each other while retaining the same orientation the whole time).
I am pretty decent in grasshopper but i am still struggling to figure out kangaroo so I appreciate any and all help!
also, I internalized the geometry of the brep, but the script still wont work without the rhino file, any tips on that would be great too.

Hi Daniel,
The BoxCollide force works only on the special case where the boxes remain aligned, and Kangaroo doesn't currently include general rigid body collisions. There are various workarounds you could try, such as meshing the boxes and using Line-line collisions on the edges, but at the moment I think Kangaroo/Grasshopper is not really the right tool for this job.
