Landscape Parametrics is a forum for the investigation, experimentation, and application of parametric modeling in the field of Landscape Architecture.
I'm also excited to see this syllabus and other work forthcoming. I teach a workshop class that links grasshopper tools and techniques to landscape architecture agendas at USC. Most of my classes focus on creating an interaction between custom grasshopper (or ArcGIS) landscape analysis with landscape simulation and parametric design. Lately we've been focused on topography and its links with ecosystem & planting design and representation. I'll look for something to share with the group when I have some time to prepare it.
Your workshop sounds very interesting and I'm eager to find out more about your integration of ArcGIS with parametric modeling. We are currently working with our students at UNLV to do similar modeling and processes of environmental systems with geospatial data. So I would love to hear and see what your workshop is developing! We just had a mid semester pinup of the student work and wanted to share some of those samples too. Any feedback from anyone would be very much appreciated. Note that these are just photos and not the actual digital files so the quality may not be the greatest.
Hi all, I'm putting together a course for myself to teach myself possibilities for parametric landscape -- Beginning with terrain, but interested in other applications. I have a shaky three year old foundation in grasshopper, but I'm hoping to shore it all up so I can make a course proposal for my university. Any suggestions of plug-ins or other resources that any of you have, I would appreciate greatly!
