Thank you for your answer. I see a lot of people has this similar problem. I would like to analyse just the inside of the block building, while the exterior shape will be changing with each step, controlled by a galapagos.
It would be really nice if you could give more like a step by step instruction how to deal with this issue.
I've been trying to solve the following issue: Panel_1 absorbs "n" peak solar radiation per day (kWh/m2). If I add Panel_2 at its bottom edge (obj. type panel; material mirror), I want to evaluate the increase of solar absorption "n+∆n" on Panel_1 (kWh/m2), depending on the tilt of Panel_2.
I can't state any difference between the case with and the case without Panel_2 - therefore no result can be optimized within Galapagos. Does reflected radiation need particular considerations? Shall I change strategy?
I hereby enclose the definition; thanks for your help,

Using the Insolation Calculations component... mesh exports and calculates in Ecotect perfectly. The problem is in returning the values to Grasshopper. The Insolation Component turns orange and tells me that the connection with Ecotect was not successful and if I am sure Ecotect is running, even though it is. D out put is Null.
Any idea what can be causing this? I am using the latest version, been successful at doing this in the past with Geco.
@Jacopo Baldini: It seems this problem emerged before. As Tomas, stated, uninstall your current Geco plugin. After that check your "Rhinoceros\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components" folder and delete any of remainders of Geco plugin (files named "Geco..."). Be sure to download the latest version of Geco from here. Install it.
@Elliot Glassman: could you attach you definition?
The best solution for somebody who has this problems is to set the toggles manually and turn them on one by one whenever the component finished instead of using the automated way (this is also valid for solution taking longer than 5 minutes - internal time out)

if you encounter problems(gecolink problem) with the last release(without installer) please make sure that the assemblies are not blocked. To check this just right click on the geco.gha and gecolink.dll. If they are blocked you can see this on the right bottom corner with the button called unblock.
This makes geco FREE for both educational and commercial use, but requires that credit be given to [uto] and geco™ whenever it is used on a project. The NoDerivatives part of the license means that it is not an open-source project and the code will be not public.
Hello, I just checked your website and wanted to download the "Mesh Analysis and Utility Components", but failed. It seemed that I will need some permission? What should I do?
After requesting the uto-tools it takes some time and you will receive an email when request was processed. Please do not request multiple times. Sorry if there is sometimes a delay.
I'm just having some troubles while using Geko + Grasshopper + Galapagos.
First of all, I'm trying to cover a volume (for example, a cube) with the analysis grid over all volume's faces, but the grid only appears on one of them. I would like to know how to analyse an entire volume, regardless its form.
Then, I would like to know how to configure my pc so the calculation process gets faster. I'm using an AMD FX 8210 processor with 8 Gb RAM. Each core is kind of weak, so what I should do? Overclock my PC? deactivate some cores in order to fully concentrate the calculation process on those which still activated?
Thanks for your time and dedication. Your application is being quite useful for my research investigation!
Now by merging Ecotect functions into Revit, are there any possibilities to have a component that works like Geco but to link grasshopper with revit for simulation and energetic analyse??

Hi guys,
i'm running grasshopper 0.8.0066 on Rhino before the 2013 Geco was working properly but now doesn't wanna work anymore...
I downloaded the last version from Food4Rhino (gecoforgh_installer_v1.034_gh0.9.0014) but doesn't work something missing during the loading process...
What I should do? I already tried to upgrade grasshopper with the last version but doesn't work either.
Before I was usign GecoForGH_Installer_v1.030GH0.8.xxxx and now I just need a new license for that.
How can I fix the problem?
Cheers, Jacopo!

please check and delete every version you may have there copied manually
C:\Users\YOURPROFIL\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries
than make sure you have geco version 1.0034 and as you can read in the notes of the download geco only works with GH09.0014 and higher.

@ Esraa Esmail Abdelaziz:
geco is available and will be accessible for free also in the future.
we only update the file every year if there have been any reported issues.
@ dalec:
There are no plans from our site to write components for revit as there are already comprehensive once as grevit or similar.
Keep also in mind that revit is a BIM software and is not a sustainable design software.
For this I would guide you more into direction of honeybee and energy plus or diva if you look for a substitute.
