Queen's Baton for the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014

I thought Grasshopper users out there might be interested in my use of Grasshopper in the Queen's Baton for the next Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, next year.

Grasshopper gets a very slight mention in this core77 article, but it was what I used to develop the signature lattice framework that you see in the design.

Grasshopper wasn't used for the "puzzle mechanism" at the top of the baton, but the first concepts and prototypes for that were developed in Rhino.

If there was a like button here I would have pressed it. Well done.

    Truly wonderful.

Dude that is fantastic!  Some really interesting details. Congratulations

Its a shame the BBC have uploaded their video at only 240p. It hurts my eyes to watch.

Thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated! Hopefully I will be able to write up the methodology at some point showing how grasshopper was used in the development of the lattice design.

    That would be great!
