Jun Luke Wang,
Usually i just use the F5 key to recompute the whole definition, or enable selected components with the spacebar menu, which also recomputes them and any dependabt nodes. Quicker than using the right mouse menu and selecting update component. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for this plugin, really a game changer!

Quick question: is there a way to turn on automatic update on all reference components (reference by type, reference by block names, etc.), or give them a bool input that I can trace to a single button to control together? I haven't really look extensive into this, but if I start using the plugin to automatically updating 15 different facade panel variations as different blocks based on one base block, it would kinda defeat the purpose if I have to hit update 15 times? Please correct me if I'm wrong or if there is a feature I'm not noticing.

thnx again

Hi Ramon, thanks for the add-on! But i found little bug. In component "Define Text" don't work justification.

Hi Ramon, how do you change existing rhino layer names?

I'm exporting a lot of 3D PDF and recently DXF to have the benefit of full layer names when exporting to sketchup. The issue is that rhino does not export full layer names to either 3D PDF, sketchup and iRhino. Exporting a DXF first creates the full layer names.

This is an ok solution but it results in ugly layer names with $ characters inserted in between layer and sub-layer names.

I want to replace those $ characters.

Editing the layer names in Grasshopper is easy but when I bake them, rhino creates new layers instead of editing the existing ones. Probably logic since it doesn't know which ones it has to edit.

Thanks for your plugin and I hope you have a solution

Hi All,

I have just released an update to the add-on on Food4Rhino. Some bugs were fixed.

  • Added "Activate all bake components" button
  • Description component migrated to "AutoGraph" and will only be available in Elefront as legacy
  • When you create a cycle in description components, GH wil no longer crash
  • Materials are now assigned to layers and objects properly
  • A known bug with valuelist components and layer components is fixed
  • A bug in the "Duplicate Data Match" component is fixed
  • A bug in the "Graft Parallel" component is fixed

Hi Ramon, Thanks again for the add-on.  I've been using the export objects component especially, which I've had the best success exporting multiple geometries to a single file and including textures.  One issue I've come across is that with the extension set to .obj, the rhino command line still spits out "Choose meshing option ( DetailedOptions  PolygonDensity=50 ):" which requires a manual selection.  Issuing a -_Export manually first and re-running the script has no change.  I'm curious what syntax is required to force the export scheme of the component? Have not tested with other filetypes.

I have prepared a working sample file that demonstrates some of the functionalities. It is really just a drop on a hot plate, but it should give an idea of the different scenarios the tool can be used for.

A new updated version with FULL functionality has been released today. There are quite a few exciting new features, as well as some beloved old ones, such as block creation and instantiation.

Feel free to check it out on Food4Rhino
