Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I was wondering if there was some way of producing an equation in grasshopper

- where if a distance is equal or less than a #. - it will add or subtract elements. Eg: adding supporting strut for a bridge support when it get longer or wider.

Or,

if there was a cutting the length of a rib from: 1 - to 2/3 - to 1/3 when the dist. is equal or less than a measurement. I hope this make sense! I can provide a diagram if need be.

Cheers,

MW

There are numerous ways to do that. The actual way to implement your "function" depends on the task and the way you implement the rest of your construction.

For your example: you'd probably divide the overall length of your structure by the minimal distance then feed that number into a logic that defines the positions of your struts.

There are discrete math and logic components or you could use the Evaluate component to create a compound formula.
