algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I've never used Grasshopper, but I want to create examples of a transition from something organised to random (if you know what I mean)... I've attached something to try and explain it.
I assume this can be done with Grasshopper? It could be 3D or just a flat 2D illustration. Is this termed anything in particular... so I can search for tutorials?
Thanks

Or even just a 'pattern' of some kind that follows a path?
It can probably be done with Grasshopper, but the exact hows and whys depends on your exact problem.
Are you looking to randomly remove vertices from a grid using some sort of attractor cloud or equation? Are you looking to create a zig-zag, or are you after the variable grid density thing?
Thanks for the reply. I think instead of removing points I'd rather it be a transition from small holes to larger holes.
I have attached an image. The design that I want to apply it to is basically a structure that is used for both seating and standing\holding within a bus (as one piece or two pieces as shown). It would have holes at the holding area, randomly sized but large enough for a hand, which decrease in size towards the seating area.
So the orange area (the main body of the structure) in the top left image would have the holes and pattern.
I just wanted to try out various random hole shapes and sizes.
Welcome to
Grasshopper
