Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi,

I wanted to know whether there is a possibility
to project different objects in a grid?

with the help of cull-pattern i can only modify the rows.
I would be interested whether there is a possibility,
that in each cells of a grid can be project a different object.

the picture below shows an example what i mean.
it would be grat to get an answer.

thank you very much.

Hi Rassul,

This is possible with the right structuring of data streams. Can you post your latest definition with this in?

Otherwise in the meantime have a look back at this thread http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/how-can-i-sort-a-list-of?... where different variables for each pattern were supplied to create a varied array.

dear danny,

the pict above is created with photoshop.

but i can post a definition that shows

the  projection of the geometry (points) only in rows.

is it that what you mean?

thanks a lot.

Have you got either a definition that shows all the different geometry that you want positioning in a grid or a definition that generates one type of geometry in a grid?

dear danny,

ok, i realize that the question is too simple.

but if it excites you to show how to do it better,

i would be very thrilled about it.

many thanks

Have you looked at Zubin M Khabazi's book? He has one tutorial where modules are dispatched according to orientation of the cell to the sun. That might help. It's on page 112 of Generative Algorithims.

i will look at it.
