Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody!

I'm working on the algorithm of venation pattern and i'm going on well  but I have a problem in the middle of the way

The problem I have is that I cant organize my points in a specific branch pattern.

In other words i want to put my points (right panel) in a branch pattern specified on left panel. that will put the points with same source (0,1,2,..,4) in a group and then I can easily use this method for a hoopsnake component to finish the algorithm.

Any help will be appreciated :)

Thanks

Reference attached definition, it creates branches based on same length/area.

Thanks for the definition John

Entwine is not appropriate here because my branches number can change

I'm checking all sort of definitions but it doesn't work! I need to put data in branch patterns without defining how much branches I have. That is because I will use the hoopsnake component to loop all the definition!!

So there in no way to arrange some data in a patterned branch? For example after doing so I want to have  the point number 0,1,4,8.9,... be in a single branch {1}  or points number 2,3,6,7,... be in branch {0} that's the only way I can go on with an iterative algorithm!

Have a look at the Create Set with Replace Branches method demonstrated here: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/specific-selection?commen...

Wow :) :) :) it worked thankssssssss

John also mentioned that last night but i was too tired to understand it at the first look :D

Thanks Danny I did what I wanted to do :) And thanks John for the help

Before asking the question I used data set and member index to put my points in each source point so i was familiar with set but the next step made me feel good as this method will let me work on my other projects :)  set and replace branch ... pleasantly delicious!! & Thanks David for adding the Set group long time ago (I was always curious to know what the whole Set part is for!)

Anyway Thanks Again. I will share my venation pattern algorithm as soon as I'm finished :)

tnx for shear this
