Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I've created an inverted branching structure in grasshopper that i want to pipe but I want the tubes that form to gradually get smaller as the branch continues down to it's base. Like a trees branches get smaller the further they get from the trunk. Does anybody have any ideas how I might be able to do this ?

I've attempted to use variable piping but this gets very quickly complicated with the number of curves involved.

I've attached the file, if anyone has a solution I would be immensely grateful.

Thanks for looking at my question,

George

Also the geometry i created was done in a fairly clunky way! if anyone has anyway to make it more efficient i'd be very thankful :)

I didn't look at your script, if you want size of branch depending on their position relative to the root here is a solution :

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/shortest-walk-tapered-bra...

see the script I did named

Shortest_Walk_Tapered_envelop_curves.gh

or

Shortest_Walk_Tapered_3D_pipes.gh,

it calculates radius of branch saying that all ends have the save size. It is the component with tree and root entries. You must provide list of lines and a root.

Thank you so much! really useful links
