algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I wanted to find the area from a list of curves. But since a few of the curves in the list is a closed planar curve, the area component was not able to assess those curves and give a null. I was wondering of how to still be able to assess the area without changing the structure of the list.

Can anyone explain to me on the best way of doing this? Thank you for your help.

It will still output for you the areas of the closed curves.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your reply. However, will the closed curves have an area of null?

If you upload the file we can see what happens, but in closed and planar curves you can calculate the area, in open you can not. The problem are the polylines, are they planar? The join component may not have worked on the first branch and second branch.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your reply.  I have attached the file below. I have check those polylines and it shows that it is planar.

The only thing I can think of is that the tolerance of the Area component is different than the tolerance of the IsPlanar component at check-out if the curves are planar.

Dear Daniel,

I see, thank you very much for your help.
