For making closed solid BReps, is one way better performance-wise? I've got a rectangle. I can either extrude then cap, or I can planar surface then extrude. Is this a 6 and one half dozen situation? Or is one way better?
it's not exactly the same code, but I doubt it matters a great deal. The most expensive operations are the extruding and the joining of all faces afterwards, both of which have to happen in both cases.
I can't really defend this, but I'd prefer the Capping solution. Perhaps because it suffers less from oddly structured extrusion curve trees...
The absolute fastest way, if your working from a rectangles, would be to create the box directly rather than extruding. Doesn't help for anything else though...
