# Connecting Slabs

Hello

I am new to Grasshopper. I am playing around with this form, something I found in a tutorial from Archicad. Not having Archicad, how might I attach the floors to each other? I used a polygon primitive to make the base shape and I wonder whether in fact I should have made this shape from points and lines as a way to gain greater control - the ability to divide and define vertices (maybe?).

Anyhow, any suggestions on components I might consider playing with would be welcomed.

It is easier to connect the polygon vertices on each floor if you defer the 'Extrude' until after the polygons have been arrayed and rotated.  By the way, I set the 'Angle (A)' input for 'Rotate' to "Degrees" since that appears to be what you want; otherwise angles are measured in radians.

Thank you for your input. Degrees - yes. I do not really understand how to work with rads. I have looked at Discontinuity on the Grasshopper component index to try understand why you use this component. Can you explain this a little.

'Discontinuity' returns the points on any curve where there is an abrupt departure from the curve's tangent.  For polygons, these are the vertices.

You can do some homework on radians...  One radian = 57.296°.  BIG DIFFERENCE!

Yes, I read the Wiki entry but I cannot see the advantage in terms of design of radian over degree. It seems to me degrees produces symmetry. No need to take up more of your time with this thread. I will do some research myself.

Uh, yeah, dig much deeper into radians if you want to understand the concept.  Very old mathematical concept related to Pi...

I have revised my design wherein the polygon is constructed. I did this so that I could divide the curves and increase the beam base curves. So far so good. Now I want to "extrude along a curve" but I am not sure how to attach my geometry to the base vertices (the plane). Can you give me a tip?
