Extracting information from image/photo

Hey everyone!

A while back, I came across a grasshopper definition where it "extracts" information from images/photos; I think, based on colour gradients and using those to perform extrusions, or scaling objects or something.

Was wondering if anyone knows of any interesting tutorials/definitions on this subject?
