Hi Clemens,

I have a question about the BenchmarkExample Plate_Beam_Simply_Supported.

If I change the width of the beam and shell element the max bending moment in both elements are not the same anymore(shell lower than beam). I can't see a normal force in the shell element so it must be same (I think). 

Can you explain the difference in bending moments?

Hi Halim,

there is an error in the definition: the physical unit of the shells bending moment is kNm/m not kNm. In order to get the same result for the beam and shell one has to multiply the distributed bending moment of the shell-strip by its width given in meters.

In the attached file I have two same structures with different elements (shell and beam). The bending moments are different (also by multplying with the width). Can you help me to solve this problem?

Hi Halim,

try to reduce the complexity of the definition to find the bug: Start with a simply supported beam, if that works add features (loads, elements) step by step. Check the support reactions.
