Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

I am a new user to Karamba. I am facing a small problem with custom crosssection. I have attched the Rhino and grasshopper file for the same. If I use the predefined cross-section then it works fine but if I try to create a custom section then it shows 2 different overlapping structural elements (as you can see in image 1 and 2). Any help will be appreciated. :)

Hi Harshad, I could not reproduce the problem. Please try to reduce the number of elements as much as possible and internalize the geometry. This would make it easier to debug the definition.

Best,

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

Thank you for your reply.
I have simplified the GH definition. If I use a very simple geometry like a rectangle with the same cross-section for all the elements then I don't face the same problem but as soon as I increase the elements and add a different type of cross section for some of the elements then the result go for a toss. It happens only when I use the custom section. In the grasshopper file I have added a toggle tab which will make you understand the problem. Let me know.

Kind regards,
Harshad

Hi Harshad,

the solution is to flatten the input at the 'CroSec' input-plug of the Assemble-component (see attached definition). Otherwise two models result.

Best regards,

Clemens

Hi Clemens,

That worked. Thanks a lot.
Have a nice day.
