Precribed displacement

Hi everyone,

I am a beginner of Karamba. I am trying it for a project. There is a question about the Precribed displacement.

I want to get the displacement of a iso-static model with a settlement in one of the support. The picture 1 show the result that I want which I got from GSA. But with Karamba, I got something that is not logical with the precribed displacement.

Would you please just have a look of my model and give some advices?

Hi Yanni,

thank you for this interesting example. There are two things that I found in your definition (see attached file):

There are two supports at the node which needs to be moved: one with prescribed displacement and one without. Karamba should issue a warning in such a case but did not. I will add a corresponding check in the next release.
The structure is kinematic. This can be remedied by suppressing all translations at the supports.
