algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear all,

I would like to analyze structural elements that are subjected to axial tensile and not compressive forces.

How can I do it?

Dear Leonardo,

what aspects of tension only structures are you interested in?

Is it the non-linear behavior of e.g. ropes that get inactive under compression or do you rather want to generate structures that a priori consist of tension elements only?

Best,

Clemens

Dear Clemens,

thanks for your reply.

I am interested in structures, e.g. trusses, in which diagonals, if made with cables, get inactive under compression and work only under axial tensile forces.

Thanks.

Best,

Leonardo

Dear Leonardo,

you could use then TenComElim-component of Karamba for this. In the Karamba Hacker's manual there is also an example of a script which works along the same lines.

Best,

Clemens
